Have you ever seen fun painted rocks while hiking or strolling around town? It's an international trend that has been going on for several years (read more here!) Since we all know Rotary rocks, Fidalgo Island Rotary decided to get in on the fun. Our Family of Rotary committee recently hosted "Rotary Rocks," a fun night of rock painting (socially distanced, outdoors and masked up, of course.) Members gathered at Washington Park to paint rocks and create beautiful designs, as well as catch up with one another (a necessity, since we are not able to safely meet for our Tuesday morning meetings yet!) Members created awesome designs, and once the smoke clears here in Anacortes, our Family of Rotary committee will plan an excursion to hide the rocks around town.
However, we added a sneaky little marketing campaign - on the back side of each rock, we added our FIR website! Our hope is that when someone finds one of these beautiful creations, they'll pick it up, flip it over, and be intrigued enough to check out our website to learn more about The FUN Club!
DID YOU FIND a Rotary Rock? Post a picture on Facebook or Instagram and use the hashtag #RotaryRocks! We want to see how far our rocks go and who has found them!
