Once again, Fidalgo Island Rotary members host one of Anacortes' favorite booths at Waterfront Festival - the FREE Kids Boat Building Booth! Each year, FIR facilitates the building, creation and gathering of all the supplies, including the wood boat hulls, sails and boat decorations. The club helps kids build boats and test them in a large pool. Building a boat is a longstanding tradition for many in Anacortes - many parents tell us they still have their OWN boat they built when they were a kid as they now bring their own children to the booth.
