Several Fun Club Rotarians battled the drizzle and lack of knowledge on power tools to help Daniel Conrardy repair and build new entrances to the Anacortes Middle School kitchen garden and outdoor art area on Saturday, Aug. 24. Over a 3 hour period, we were able to measure, cut, and install cross beams, cedar siding and start on the entrance gable. We worked from the plans the Architecture students in STEM Camp put together — Daniel Conrardy lead the Intro to Architecture and Construction workshop at STEM Camp two weeks ago, where students learned to create designs for building projects, including the AMS fence. In the weeks ahead look for additional opportunities to help complete this beautification project.
