Every year, local Rotary clubs have a fundraising auction to help fund their community service projects; this year, the Anacortes Noon Rotary had a very FUN 60s themed Beatles Tribute concert and invited us to come help volunteer. With a theme like that, how could we not?  So we got dressed up in our best 60s/70s wardrobe and headed down to the Port Transit Shed where they did not disappoint.  The decorations, the band, the attendees... everything was in full swing!

This years' 'Raise the Paddle' went towards providing better Mental Health and providing counseling for our middle and high schoolers. Our own Jeannette Papadakis spoke on behalf of the Island Hospital Foundation and how kids these days need more counseling and tools to help with issues they are going through. As a volunteer, registering people as they check-in was great people watching and we couldn't stop laughing. Some of the outfits were outrageously fun and creative and working with the noon club is always great. They provide great leadership depending on your skill set and make sure your task meets your skill level so there's no frustration or awkwardness. They fed us awesome food catered by Gere-A-Deli and let us take home leftover desserts. If you ever get a chance to volunteer with a Rotary club, you are guaranteed a good time for a good cause.
