I have received a communique from Dr. Wenzel at the school district regarding the teacher enhancement grant program. Yes, I realize that he had indicated that program was going away, but they have figured out a new methodology that doesn't require staff and they have 16 requests. If you would like to preview the requests go to donorschoose.org then enter 98221 to search for local grant requests.
We also need to get updated on Celebrate the Season Gingerbread house day; our new District Grant project; STEM Camp 2020; and Waterfront Boatbuilding.
So hope to see you on Monday evening. I will bring something for us to eat and drink.

Update on LAVLE
Dec. 10, 2019
A new Anacortes company hopes to design and manufacture components for electric maritime vessels out of Skagit County. The company, called LAVLE, is a joint venture between Anacortes marine engineering company Ockerman Automation and Tokyo-based technology company 3DOM. Ockerman specializes in the design and implementation of propulsion and control systems aboard ships, while 3DOM produces energy storage technology. Together, they aim to combine 3DOM’s battery technology with Ockerman’s marine engineering to help create cost-effective, low-emission electric marine vessels. |

This hike is about 3 miles roundtrip. Let’s get a deeper look at the cranberry lake area by taking a hike to Little Beaver Pond. Our path will be highlighted with a great look at beaver lodges and other signs of beaver engineering. The majority of this hike is generally flat but does include some more challenging rooty sections and moderate hills as we pass to the southwest of Little Cranberry Lake. Meet at the Little Cranberry Lake parking lot. The Big Beaver Pond Loop is listed as Intermediate: suitable for those in fair hiking condition or novices who want a bit of a challenge. Generally 2-4 miles roundtrip with moderate elevation gain. May include some steep sections and some obstacles along the trail that require balance or maneuvering. |
